Infusion: Newsletters - Version: 5.03 - Released: May, 2022
INTRODUCTION
PHP-Fusion Compatibility: ver9.10.xx

  With this infusion site administrators may compose and send notices and newsletters to the site membership to keep them updated on news, additional site features or whatever he/she deems important for the members to know about.

  If public subscriptions are turned On via the main menu settings, your guests may subscribe and also receive notices and newsletters.

  Or if the subscriptions mode is set to Manual, the site administrator may manually add public users as desired or needed.

  Multiple files (compression recommended), may be attached to the notice or newsletter as desired up to about 4 megabytes.

  If the option is selected at compose/send time the notice or newsletter is now archived as an html file for browser viewing.
FEATURES
Not compatible with PHP-Fusion v7
  • Send single or multiple attachments (compression recommended)
  • Send to single, multiple or all site members
  • Send to single, multiple or all public subscribers
  • Send to a single or multiple site User Group(s)
  • Three subscription modes of operation: On, Off and Manual. If set to Manual the administrator may add public subscribers as desired
  • Personalized emails sent with only the recipients email address showing
  • Multiple image templates have been reduced to 3 images per template on Styles 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10 consisting of top middle and bottom images
  • Styles 5 and 6 are imageless and use table and td background colors instead
  • Styles 7 and 8 are based on 'online games'. Styles 9 and 10 are Christmas based
  • CSS is now inline and no longer within the head section of the templates
  • Upload files to be attached to a notice or newsletter via the Upload Files button. You may Delete uploaded files after they are no longer needed
  • Optionally, sent notices and newsletters are now archived for browser viewing
  • Complete control of archived html files via the Archive Admin button. Single/Multiple deletion of archived files.
  • New in v5.03 - Complete control of Subscriptions. Single/Multiple Activate, Deactivate and Deletions.
  • New in v5.03 - PM to Admin for public Subscribe/Unsubscribe.
INSTALLATION & USAGE
Decompress The Package to a local directory on your computer
  • Upload everything under 'php_files' to your host server.
  • Install the infusion through the Admin Panel, System Admin, Infusions.
  • Go to System Admin, Panels and install the side panel in desired location.
  • Go to Admin Panel, Infusions and select Newsletter Admin link.
  • From the Main Menu select the desired Subscription setting and save.
  • From the Main Menu select Subscriptions where you may add some or all site members to your mailing list if desired.
  • If Manual has been selected in settings you may also add public subscriptions.
  • If no users are added then simply wait until members Login and Subscribe themselves. Guests also if Public Subscriptions are selected in settings.
  • Everything is now ready to go.
  • You may send to Site Users and Guests at the same time.
  • Sending to a user-group must be done separately.
  • Select Newsletters link from the Main Menu.
  • Select a Template and click Load.
  • Add your newsletter or notice content to the Message area.
  • Go to the bottom and select Preview Newsletter button.
  • You will see the Newsletter/Notice as it will appear in the recipients client email program. Fusion 9 messes with the template but still viewable.
  • Enter your News Header Text and the html/text newsletter content fields.
  • Change the Subject from the Template Name to your desired Newsletter Title and click Save Newsletter
  • IMPORTANT ! If you click Save Newsletter w/o changing the Subject (Template Name), it will permanently change the template with your changes. This is generally not desirable!
  • Load the Saved Newsletter back in, select recipients, archive or not, attachments if any and click Send Newsletter.
